Who is responsible

The controller responsible for processing personal data on centhive.com is:

Centhive
Koutarou Mosca, founder
Switzerland
privacy [at] centhive [dot] com

Write to that address for any question about your data or to exercise your rights below. This policy is written to meet the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) and, where it applies to visitors in the EU or EEA, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect and why

Access requests

When you request access, we collect your name, email, country of residence and what you want to do on Centhive, your confirmation that you're 18 or older, and, if you give them, your profession, the markets you trade or follow, your trading experience, and a social media or LinkedIn profile. We use them to decide who to invite to the private beta and when, to keep the first group balanced, and to send you your invite. Legal basis under the GDPR: steps taken at your request before a possible contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).

If you tick the box for launch updates, we also use your email to send you occasional news about the launch. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.

Investor enquiries

When you get in touch through the investor page, we collect your name and email and, if you give them, your firm or fund, a link, the way you invest, your typical cheque size and your message. We use them to reply to you and to discuss a possible investment. Legal basis under the GDPR: steps taken at your request before a possible contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Visiting the site

When you open a page, our hosting provider automatically processes technical data needed to deliver it and keep it secure: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, and your browser and operating system. We don't combine this with anything else or use it to identify you. Legal basis under the GDPR: our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Spam protection

To keep automated spam out, our forms check how long a form took to fill in, include a hidden field that only bots complete, and limit how often the same email address can be submitted. These checks happen when you send the form; we don't store the results.

Voluntary, and no automated decisions

Giving us your details is voluntary. Without an email address we can't send you an invite or reply to you, but nothing else depends on it. We don't make automated decisions about you or build profiles from your data.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. All fonts and scripts are served from our own server, so opening a page doesn't send your data to anyone else. That's also why there's no cookie banner: there's nothing to consent to.

Because we don't track you, "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals don't change anything here. We don't sell or share personal information, as those terms are used in US state privacy laws.

Age

Centhive is for adults. The waitlist, and the trading platform it leads to, are only for people aged 18 or over, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you believe a child has given us their details, write to us and we'll delete them.

Who processes your data

We don't sell your data or share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers that process it on our behalf and only on our instructions:

  • Hosting: the company that serves this website and its technical logs.
  • Forms and storage: Google (Google Sheets and Apps Script). What you submit is sent to a script we run on Google's servers and saved in our spreadsheet there.
  • Email: the service we use to send beta invites and updates.

Some of these providers may store data outside Switzerland, in the EU or EEA or in the United States. Switzerland recognises the EU and EEA as providing adequate protection. Transfers to the United States rely on the provider's certification under the Swiss–US Data Privacy Framework or, where that isn't available, on standard contractual clauses recognised by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

How long we keep it

  • Access requests: until the private beta ends or you ask us to delete them, and no longer than twelve months after the public launch. If you become a Centhive user, your account terms take over.
  • Launch updates: until you unsubscribe.
  • Investor enquiries: for as long as the conversation needs, and no longer than two years after our last contact, unless an investment follows and the law requires us to keep business records for longer.
  • Technical logs: for the short period set by our hosting provider, usually no more than 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to tell you what data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to stop or restrict a use of it, or to hand it over in a common format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time; this doesn't affect anything done before. Write to the address above and we'll answer within 30 days.

To have your data deleted, email us from the address you signed up with, or tell us which address it was. We'll delete it from our list and from our service providers, and confirm by email once it's done. To stop emails only, use the unsubscribe link in any of them.

If you think we've handled your data wrongly, you can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch) or, if you live in the EU or EEA, to the data protection authority in your country.

Security

The site is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and we ask for as little data as we can. Access to submissions is limited to the people who need it to reply to you.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when what we collect or how we use it changes, and change the date at the top. If a change affects data you've already given us, we'll tell you by email first.
